Streamer Spotlight: Cobaek
Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is David. I'm 36 years old and from Brooklyn, NY. I've been a New Yorker my whole life. I have been gaming for at least 25 years going as far back as the original NES and Sega Master System. As for what I do for a living, I work in billing and support for a shipping services reseller. Staring at Excel all day is fun Kappa.
What are your hobbies?
Video games first and foremost. Reading comic books. Learning to play drums outside of RB. Also a big fan of hockey and enjoy attending New York Rangers games.
What inspired you to start streaming?
I first started out lurking in the larger GH/RB streams. But the first channel that got me really interested in streaming was theDrummingPC. Seeing his setup really got me into giving streaming a shot. Went from streaming directly off the console without a mic or camera to the stream setup that I have today.
What game(s) do you stream?
My stream consists of mainly Rock Band. But I will occasionally stream a random game here and there, especially if it's with friends.
What instrument(s) do you play?
- Guitar
- Bass
- Drums
- Vox
What's the story behind your gamertag?
I originally went under ColonelKill in my FPS days during the late 90s (thinking about that just made me feel old). When I made the transition over to MMORPGs in early 2001, I felt that name didn't quite fit the game I was playing. So I went with Cobaek. I'm not exactly sure how I came about the name, it has been that long. So the 'bae' in my name pretty much predates the term most people are familiar with nowadays. If anyone is asking ;)
What makes your stream unique?
If it had to be anything, it's my drum camera LOL
What's your favorite part about streaming?
Being able to interact with viewers is my favorite part of streaming. Streaming has also allowed me to make more friends.
What are the current goals or milestones you're working on?
Currently trying to reach the 300 FC count on Pro Drums, and to work on my technique for more of the harder songs. As for my stream, I'm looking to mostly make improvements to my drum camera setup as well as tackling some minor mic quality issues.
