Streamer Spotlight: NightonFiyah

[Carl] Hey, I'm carlmmii! [Jesse] Hey, I'm NekoJesse! [both] And together... We are Night on Fiyah! We're just a couple of nerds who like to kick back and unwind after work with music and drinks. We've been friends ever since we met each other in the Navy, and have basically been trying to keep the party going ever since.

[Carl] I'm a tech nut. Computer builds, audio setups, anything fancy and electronics related. And gaming obviously, mainly Rock Band 4 and Destiny 2 lately. [Jesse] Gaming with friends, and anime figure collection. *stares at Carl's small "collection"* CATCH UP!!!

So, we had actually never really known that much at all about twitch or streaming at all until we met our good friend OldFatnSaggy, and he started doing Destiny streams. After a few years, we ended up being part of big group of friends centered around his stream ("the SaggPack"). One day, Jesse and I were playing Rock Band after work, and we had that moment -- "what if we just hit the button?" So we did. We loaded up the twitch app on the xbox, and just went live.

We mainly stick to Rock Band 4, with Sunday Shenanigans being the main focus each week. But there have been times when Carl decides to play some other rhythm games (RB3 customs, Stepmania, Beatmania, etc.), or we'll switch things up a bit for celebration streams. We also have our own personal twitch channels for other things.

carlmmii: So... I've actually had the "carlmmii" gamertag ever since high school. I wasn't a fan of the whole name-number thing (believe it or not, "coolguy69" was tacky even in the early days of the internet), so I put my own spin on it. Graduation year? 2002. Roman numerals. Carl MMII. Done. NekoJesse: Hi I'm Jesse and I'm a Neko. nightonfiyah: [Carl] This is the lesser known bit of info. We fell in love with the Initial D anime back in the day, in all its Eurobeat soundtrack glory. I had gotten into the world of beatmania around the same time, and 6th style has quite a few of the songs from Initial D. Including "Night on Fire". That became the name for anything Jesse and I did together from that point on (clans, guilds, and now twitch).

Sunday Shenanigans. It's always both of us basically doing what Rock Band was always meant to be for us -- playing music, and having fun. We always say that the stream is half rock band, half IRL, and that's something that I think resonates with a lot of people. We've also got the support of Kirk, the Coca Cola bear, and Miku... I mean, c'mon!

Absolutely has to be the ability to hang out and play games with the community. We used to have the most fun when we had all our friends over for things like Halo and Rock Band back in the day, and this gives us a chance to bring that feeling back.

We're actually about to host our very first meetup/collab stream with Matt and Antonio, which we're all super excited about! Other than that, we're going to keep on rocking and hope everyone enjoys the shenanigans. Carl's always going to be working on improving the technical/quality side of things little by little, but overall we just want to have fun and hang out with everyone each week.
